Despicable Hopkins: “African migrants are like cockroaches”

If Katie Hopkins was around during the Nazi Germany era, I have no doubt she would willfully, perhaps gleefully push those people she didn’t like into the notorious gas chambers.

It is one thing placing yourself as a Jeremy Clarkson style ‘anti-hero’, but even Clarkson understood the difference between manufactured pub bigotry and race hatred that is akin to the Nazi mentality.

Writing in The Sun, Hopkins suggested that, gunboats be deployed on helpless migrants in overcrowded fishing boats, and that no doubt if they crossed a line then the Gunboats would open fire and murder men, women and children. She made these comments within days of 400 Africans drowning, which was compounded by another 700 who perished four days later.

But it is her language that truly conveys the utter hatred and dehumanising vision she has of poor Africans when she likened them to ‘cockroaches’. In the human psyche there is a more despised living creature than the cockroach that often lives off excrement, thus demonstrating her utter contempt for Africans. Crush these people as if they were cockroaches is the language and narrative that she employs. This, by the way is no different to what the then BNP leader Nick Griffin stated as a MEP, when he called for the sinking of ships carrying migrants.

So, as thousands die on the high seas, fleeing war zones, such as failed States such as Libya, Yemen, and Syria, we must not forget that many of these troubled areas occurred because of implicit and explicit European intervention which as caused absolute chaos in North African and Middle Eastern areas.

But let’s at the very least show our solidarity to Africans and sign the petition calling for Katie Hopkins to be sacked from The Sun newspaper. I think we should go one step further: if The Sun refuses to sack her then we should boycott the paper which employs an individual who would not be out of place pushing people into the gas chambers of Nazi Germany.
