Volunteering roles at Community Alliance Lewisham (CAL)
Community Alliance Lewisham (CAL) has a number of volunteering roles available. The deadline for applying for these roles is 30th September 2021.

This role supports the Chair in ensuring the smooth functioning of the Committee group, which includes ensuring meetings are effectively organised and documented.
We are looking for a volunteer who has experience of the following: • To be an effective administrator/secretary you will be someone who can organise meetings and activities.
• If you are a person who has a great eye for detail and can work in a methodical way to support community activity then this might be a good role for you.
• You will need good communication skills and enjoy meeting new people.
• An administrator/secretary needs to be IT literate, have good administrative and record keeping skills and be able to follow relevant procedures.
• Proactive interest in community engagement

We are seeking residents from the Borough of Lewisham to become Committee members. Members must be willing to work as part of a group and not as individuals in supporting CAL with fulfilling its role as a CIC accredited organisation. Members must be keen to proactively support their local community.
Committee members must have:
• a commitment to the mission of CAL
• a willingness to devote the necessary time and effort
• integrity • strategic vision • good, independent judgement
• an ability to think creatively • a willingness to speak their mind
• an understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship
• an ability to work effectively as a member of a team and to take decisions for the good of CAL. • an enthusiasm/passion for community engagement
• a good understanding of project management and working to deadlines

Social media volunteer Ref: J7543
CAL is seeking a social media expert to help with engaging our target audiences by creating compelling social media content to increase our presence online. This is important so CAL can continue to support residents within the London Borough of Lewisham.
We are looking for a volunteer who has experience of the following:
• Using different social media platforms
• Developing a social media strategy
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to quickly understand the needs of CAL
• Can ask key questions to enable us to clarify requirements
• Understands the resource constraints of a small CIC and is able to work within these. • Open to feedback
• Proactive and the ability to work to tight deadlines
• Proactive interest in community engagement
