Pathway to Success masterclasses conclude for March cohort
'We're not asking for your success, we're demanding it!'
The six-day Pathway to Success scheme came to an end on Friday with the March 2021 cohort reflecting on their time learning from leaders across politics, civic life and business.
By the end of Friday’s session, there was joy at the week that had been, but also eagerness to put the newfound perspective and expertise to use.
It has been an absolute privilege to have participated in the Operation Black Vote Pathway to Success Programme 2021. Thank you so much to the whole OBV family and partners. This week has been simply amazing! Over a short span, this cohort has become a family. Thank you
~ Vanisha Solanki
Much like the diverse backgrounds of the guest speakers, the March cohort included professionals in finance, healthcare, the third sector and many more fields.
However, there was also sadness. As Vanisha Solanki expressed, the group had developed a special bond by the end of this week’s proceedings. This only served to reiterate that though they arrived as individuals, their future success will hinge on their willingness to weave threads of cooperation to advance not only their own goals, but those of their communities.
Ultimately though, what brought the final cohort together was a passion to take their next step in leadership. Almost 900 applications were submitted during the application process which began last May.
The event itself has featured contributions from a former prime minister, a city mayor, a councillor, MPs, distinguished political strategists, a baroness, business experts and more.
The group will be meeting again for a residential in September. Nevertheless, the 26 strong cohort will be aware that they are now better placed in their leadership journey, as they continue to chart their pathway to success.

A call to action...
For nearly 25 years OBV have fought to ensure black and minority ethnic participation and representation in civic society. Efforts in continuing to do so though, relies on your help. That way we can continue this fight for greater race equality. What would give us a tremendous boost is if today, you made that small donation yourselves, but even more importantly if you encouraged others to do likewise.
