'Preparing for the future' is an MP shadowing scheme, in which bright and enthusiastic Black people will shadow MP's for a period of 6 months.
Simon Woolley National Co-ordinator stated that: "This unique scheme will help equip are people to take their rightful place at the highest levels of politics. "
Successful candidates will shadow high profile MP's and peers for at least two days a month, both at Westminster and in their constituencies. Intensive training programmes such as 'How to get selected' and 'How local and national politics works will also be given.
The CRE's co-ordinator Mulenga Hornsby stated that anyone can apply. "The only criteria we have is a commitment to addressing Black communities issues and a burning desire to succeed."
OBV will be working with the three main political parties.
