Today is the day to use your voice and vote.

After an exhaustive campaign; from voter registration videos, and voter turnout posters around the country, today is the day we go out and vote.

'If you don’t speak for yourself, someone else will speak for you’

Operation Black Vote’s campaign created by the media giants Saatchi and Saatchi and supported by the National Education Union has had this simple yet incredibly powerful message: ‘If you don’t speak for yourself, someone else will speak for you'.

With just a few days to go before the election, OBV will be visiting cities up and down the country encouraging BME voter turnout. 

Supported by CORE (Coalition of Race Equality Organisations), Operation Black Vote has launched a race equality website to outline our campaign for the December 12th General Election. Here you can view our Power of the Black Vote 2019 document which provides an outline and analysis of the 100 marginal seats where the BAME vote can be a decisive factor in the election. You can also view our Race Equality Manifesto for a detailed outline of our demands for tackling the racial and social justice experienced by many in this country.

John Major refused the temptation to hold a referendum on Europe and it was never even an issue when Blair and Brown were in power, they must have believed the saying, attributed to Margaret Thatcher, that referendums do not decide anything.

LONDON: 4th December: Operation Black Vote (OBV) today released a multi-media campaign that uses real quotes from politicians to urgently encourage Britain's disenfranchised groups, particularly, Chinese, Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) youth and others, to vote. Created by Saatchi & Saatchi London, and supported by the British Chinese Project, the hard-hitting awareness campaign highlights some of the bigoted beliefs held by politicians.

Our Friend, Mentor and all round good guy was laid to rest yesterday at the North East Surrey Crematorium. Vernon St Clair Smith MBE JP was a friend of OBV who worked tirelessly on charitable causes. Vernon was a Magistrate for many years and was particularly fond of his work in the Youth Court and at Feltham.

He will be sorely missed by his family, friends, army colleagues and all who knew him.  Rest in peace Vernon. Your work in this world is done.
