Congratulations to Lester Holloway, new editor of The Voice

The Voice will soon welcome a new editor after it was confirmed that Lester Holloway will lead the UK's only black national newspaper. Following Lester's spell at OBV as a media manager, the news has understandably been greeted positively. The veteran writer and campaigner announced his return to the paper yesterday and for OBV's COO Ashok Viswanathan it would appear to be a fine pairing.

He said: "The Voice newspaper was a campaign from inception, and it was central to campaigns throughout its long and illustrious history. So imagine the delight and destiny of Lester Holloway a former news editor, distinguished journalist, and campaigner being appointed at its helm as editor." He expressed his hope that the "ambitious" appointment would prove a plus for the Paper's campaigning endeavours and black entrepreneurship.

"Congratulations to The Voice and to Lester on this bold and ambitious appointment. I hope it will bring many more years of campaigning, social and racial justice, and black entrepreneurship and leadership to the fore within its pages and beyond."

Lester's career in the media has seen him hold several roles. He has worked for Colourful Radio as a radio presenter as well as the host of a politics show on BEN TV. He has led communications at the Institute for Public Policy Research and been a Communications and Events Coordinator at the Runnymede Trust and the Centre for Labour and Social Studies (CLASS). In taking the role of editor of The Voice he leaves his role as a policy officer for anti-racism at the TUC.
