‘Dotun’s law’ claims major victory!

in

The political, and we hope soon the legislative change that multi-media broadcaster Dotun Adebayo demanded back in 2010: That Head teachers could sack BNP members, was challenged in the courts this week. However, the presiding Judge, Clive Heaton QC, who listened and rejected the appeal of the racist thug teacher, Adam Walker who received a life time ban for violent conduct.  Walker argued his life ban should not occur because of his membership of the Far Right group.

Handing down the ruling Judge Heaton QC concluded: "I reject his argument".

It was in March 2010 Dotun Adebayo, questioned the then would-be Prime Minister David Cameron, if he would be happy if a card carrying member of the BNP were allowed to teach a Black child? David Cameron responded:

“No I wouldn’t. And neither should you. I don’t believe that membership of the BNP is compatible with being a teacher.

‘ “If I’m Prime Minister I will change the law to allow Head Teachers to sack members of the BNP. They should not be allowed to teach our children”.

Although the legislative change is still waiting to be made, much of British law is on precedent, and this case sets a precedent that a BNP card carrying teacher is incompatible with teaching in multicultural Britain.

Early in his career as a teacher Mr Walker, claimed that some immigrants were like ‘savage animals’ Then in 2011 he initially received a minimum ban of two years by a National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL) conduct panel for verbally abusing the boys and slashing their bike tyres with a knife in 2011. The courts also gave him a six-month suspended.

However, the Department for Education increased his punishment to a lifetime teaching ban in Mr Gove's name, concluding that his actions were "violent and threatening".

‘Dotun’s law' is not yet fully implemented, but the principal of it is closer to be embedded within our judicial framework.

The case of Adam Walker was relatively easy; he was racist, violent thug which was not difficult to prove. However, until the full legislative change is implemented, non violent BNP card carrying holders may still maybe teaching our children. How they treat, and mark our children’s work heaven knows. But what Black parent would feel comfortable with that knowledge.

Walkers defeat is our victory. But Dotun’s law cannot just apply to violent thugs; it must also apply to those who openly support racist ideology.

Well done to  my good friend Dotun, and to Michael Gove MP for enforcing a life time ban on this thug. It’s now time Prime Minister David Cameron to keep your promise. Remember the one you made on that March night in Peckham South London in 2010 when you wanted our vote?
