Interview with Clarence B Jones
Clarence Jones, speech-writer, friend and counsel to Dr Martin Luther King talks exclusively to OBV.
To say you were a friend and colleague of Dr Martin Luther King is one thing but to also state that you were a collaborator to one of the greatest speeches ever written is quite another. Clarence B Jones can testify to both.
In a short visit to the UK to promote his book ‘Behind the dream’. Making of the speech that transformed a Nation, Clarence Jones made time to speak exclusively to OBV’s director Simon Woolley. During the interview Jones talks about how King went off script to introduce the ‘I have a dream’ element, and the reality of living with the danger of being assassinated.
It is a fascinating insight from a man of history who was there to chronicle many of those magical and tragic events.
To celebrate Dr Martin Luther King and the book Clarence Jones has given OBV three copies to give to our supporters. You can win a copy if you respond to this blog by telling us what aspect of Dr King lives with you today? (Just leave your comment below).
Winning contributions will be announced next week.
