Jo-Wilfried Tsonga beats Wimbledon legend, Federer

in

In what must surely be the of the greatest upsets in recent tennis history, the charismatic French man Jo-Wilfried Tsonga came back from two sets to love down to beat the Wimbledon hero Roger Federer.

Federer, the six times champion, looked unbeatable from the seemingly unassailable lead (two sets to love in front) but Tsonga’s self belief never faltered and he clawed himself back into contention with some breath-taking shots.

Tsonga becomes only Black man to reach the semi finals of Wimbledon since Arthur Ash won the tournament back in 1975.

Tsonga could meet Andy Murray in the final if both continue to win remaining rounds.

Interestingly the Wimbledon crowd warmed to the animated and charismatic Frenchman throughout the game, which, as I have pointed out is in stark contrast to the way UK fans treat the Williams sisters.

If Tsonga were to meet Murray in the final my loyalties would sorely tested. Okay, no they're not. Come on Tsonga!
