Lib Dem leaders debate race inequality
The Liberal Democrats have invited Simon Woolley, Co-Founder and Director of Operation Black Vote, to chair a Leadership Hustings on tackling race inequality. The event has been organised by the Ethnic Minority Liberal Democrats-EMLD.
Both leadership candidates, Norman Lamb and Tim Farron, will be present at the event, tomorrow Tuesday 30 June at Draper Hall, Newington Butts, London, SE1 6SF. Nearest tube station and bus stops, Elephant and Castle.
The contenders will arrive at 6.30PM and the hustings will take place between 7.00PM and 9.00PM.
Simon Woolley says:
"The election for a new leader represents a golden opportunity to put tackling race inequality and having a more representative party at the heart of the party's new vision. If the Lib Dems are to make a dramatic comeback it will only be if they can be more inclusive, and with greater representation from the people they seek to serve. OBV is glad to be part of this transformative process."
Tickets are still available from Eventbright. Please attend and demonstrate to the candidates that tackling race equality has to be high on their agenda if the Lib Dems are serious about becoming an important force again in British politics.
