OBV invited to Barack Obama Speech
The UK - USA special relationship has been recognised in more ways than one. Operation Black Vote's long standing collaboration with African American’s and notables such as Rev Jesse Jackson, Rev Al Sharpton, and Congressman Emanuel Clever have been recognised by the US Embassy here in London.
OBV's Director Simon Woolley will be their invited special guest at today's set speech by President Barack Obama to both Houses of Parliament at the great Westminster Hall.
Very few heads of State are permitted to speak there. Notable speakers include former South African President Nelson Mandela.
OBV's Simon Woolley stated:
“Of course it is a great honour to be invited to such a momentous occasion. President Barack Obama has empowered and inspired Black people in Britain and around the world. Because of him huge obstacles appear as winnable challenges. His success has freed us all to succeed.”
