OBV launch the UK’s first voter registration download APP at Youth Concert with Fuse ODG
'The future of political engagement will be done via the smart phone'
Today at Tooting and Mitcham Football Club OBV, with the help of the international singing star FUSE ODG, will launch the nations first Voter registration down load App.
TV star June Sarpong will compare the evening of more than 500 people, who will attend this free concer. Of course the main focus will be the music of FUSE but the broader message will about empowering young people in the 21st Century.
Fuse ODG is flying in from the glamour of Los Angeles to his old backyard of Tooting, to give this free concert to inspire a young generation to have a strong voice in Britain’s democratic process.
The venue is: Tooting and Mitcham,The Hub, Imperial Fields, Bishopford Road, SM4 6BF
Simon Woolley, OBV Director said:
The future of political engagement will be done via the smart phone and driven by the young. That’s why OBV have teamed up with Fuse ODG and to have a concert to empower young people and launch the UK’s first voter registration download App. Having a political voice has never been easier. This simple App will help revolutionise politics.
Ashok Viswanathan, OBV Youth Co-ordinator:
"Simply by registering to vote, we are making a declaration that we demand to be listened to. And let’s not forget, in the 2015 General Election the BME vote could decide who holds the key to power. With that power we not only demand greater social and racial justice, but we also reclaim democracy from the 19th century, and into the 21st century."
