Rehman Chishti

Rehman is a qualified barrister, who once served as a political adviser to Benazir Bhutto, former Prime Minister of Pakistan.

On Medway Council he represented Gillingham North Ward from 2003–2007, and the Rainham Central Ward from 2007-2010

Since being elected the MP for Gillingham and Rainham in May 2010 Rehman has campaigned on several issues including local NHS services, rail services, protecting Capstone Valley and land at Otterham Quay Lane, and preventing an Estuary Airport.

Emily Benn, Labour PPC Croydon South

On 12 September 2007, three weeks before her 18th birthday, Emily was selected as the Labour candidate for the West Sussex constituency of East Worthing and Shoreham at the 2010 general election.

Currently an elected Councillor in Croydon, Emily hopes to become the MP for Croydon South and fight for the values she holds most dear- ‘equality of opportunity, social justice and for a world to exist where power, wealth and opportunity are in the hands of the many, not the few.’

Rene Mugenzi, Red Flag Anti-Corruption Party candidate, Limehouse and Poplar

Rene Mugenzi grew up in Rwanda until age of 18 when he fled the genocide and massacres. After coming to London, he studied Physics and Astrophysics at King’s College, London.

Rene is the founder of the British Grassroots Action Award, a national award giving initiative that recognise innovative and successful grassroot-based initiatives, and he has also designed capacity building training for social and community development workers.

He has a particularly interest in human rights abuses in Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Myanmar (Burma) and Iraq.

He is now standing as the Parliamentary Candidate for Limehouse and Poplar for the Red Flag – Anti-Corruption political party.
