OBV wins top campaigning ad award

Today Saatchi & Saatchi and OBV won an important and prestigious advertising award.

The news airwaves over recent days have been filled with sombre stories ranging from the bombings in Syria and the lockdowns in Paris and Brussels, to the dangerous and ridiculous pronouncements from the rump of Donald Trump. So it is always a pleasure, and also a brief respite to bring more positive news to the OBV website.

We’re pleased to say that the OBV General Election campaign has again caught the eye of the PR and marketing industry. Today we received a number one place win for 2015 regional advertising in the industry mag ‘Campaign’ 2015 annual awards. Jostling for places in this category are advertising giants Bartle Bogle Hegarty and M&C Saatchi, and behemoth clients such as Tesco, O2 and the Scottish Government. Not bad for a dedicated team of four full time staff and twenty volunteers?

The OBV advertising campaign devised by Saatchi & Saatchi and executed by the nation’s No 1 celebrity photographer, Rankin featured Hollywood actor David Harewood, music superstar Tinnie Tempah, football legend Sol Campbell and incredible athlete and TV presenter, Ade Adepitan.

The campaign acted as a powerful metaphor that “if you don’t register to vote and vote, you drain the colour from all of our British institutions.” By not voting, we ensure that we are not properly represented in Parliament or in any corridors of power.

OBV will be continuing the campaign theme at next year’s London and Nationwide local elections.

Thanks again to Magnus and his team at Saatchi & Saatchi, and all those celebrities and campaign activists that got on board!
