The EU debate: Don’t silence yourself
Perhaps the most important referendum in a generation, (The EU Brexit debate) and Black and minority ethnic communities might be asking, ‘will I have a say!’.
We should of course, not least because there are so many aspects of the EU in-out debate that particularly affects BME communities, including; race equality, jobs, free movement, and how we see ourselves in the UK and the wider world.
But if you’re not registered to vote then, in all the above you have no say, and you let those who might not like how you look , or what religion you hold, make this monumental decision for you.
To register to vote it takes less than 5 minutes. It helps if you have your National Insurance number.
All commonwealth citizens have the right to vote too.
