In an open letter to the Guardian newspaper political activist Noam Chomsky along with Tariq Ali, Slavoj Žižek and others have called on the US, Canada and France to resist interfering in Haiti’s democratic process.

The letter explains that the coming challenge to rebuild the country and its economy should be led by the people of Haiti and serves their interests first and foremost. Adding a note of caution of the role played in removing from power previous Haitian governments the letter goes on to say that;

I suppose something like this was going to happen sooner or later.

We ask our elected politician to be more reflective of their voters, but should there be a line between them and us – and where should we draw it?

Galliano apologists stated he was abused first, and that he was under a lot of pressure from work.

Well, when he was videoed in another anti-Semitic tirade in the same bar there was no provocation as was probably the case in the first incident.

Vote for Claudia Jones, Notting Hill Carnival founder

After all, if the Searchlight poll even begun to reflect the UK voters that’s an awful lot of voters to be harvested if you give them a nod and a wink.
