Devastating acts of violence are not to be played down. Actions that takes lives and cause havoc are outlawed, but I am sure any street poll taken in the western hemisphere about who we believe the usual suspects of ‘terrorist’ acts are, the resounding reply would probably be - Muslims.

Let's Kick Racism Out of Football  reported this week that Halima Khan has become the first Asian female to gain a rugby league level two coaching certificate.

Having already received level two coaching certificates in a number of other sports, including tennis, cricket and badminton, Halima attained the qualification in her preferred sport with the assistance of the Connecting Communities Project, a groundbreaking initiative set up by the Leeds Rugby Foundation.

'Victorian-style teaching' hurting black children

The Voice reports that Black children are being let down by UK schools as a result of ‘Victorian style teaching’ which alienates them according to an educator:

“Nia Imara, founder of the National Association for Black Supplementary Schools (NABSS), told The Voice that this style of teaching, where mostly white teachers cover mainly European-related subject matters, is hurting the education potential of black children.

Jack Straw under fire

Former Home Secretary Jack Straw has come under heavy fire after comments about Pakistani men.

The Labour MP for Blackburn has been accused of "stereotyping" after suggesting some men of Pakistani origin see white girls as "easy meat".

Yesterday the BBC reported that “Jack Straw has made a claim that there is a problem in Britain's Pakistani heritage community where gangs of men are targeting young white girls who they see as “easy meat” in so called “street grooming” crimes”.
