Gareth Hemingway pleaded guilty at Leeds Crown Court to five offences under section 21(1) of the Public Order Act 1986 and was sentenced to 15 months in prison.

At least 14 people have died on the island of St Lucia after Hurricane Tomas battered Caribbean islands and triggered landslides cutting off several communities across the island a week-and-a half-ago.

Pupil voice in the democratic process

South London students had the chance to air their views on a range of subjects that affect them at the third annual Pupil Voice conference.

The conference hosted by Lambeth Council gave young people (Secondary school pupils) the chance to meet key decision makers within the Council and find out how they can take part in the borough’s democratic process.
