Farage: “Scrap race equality laws”

Just a day after it was announced that there has been an increase of 50% Black youth unemployment, when white youth unemployment is going down, the Ukip Leader Nigel Farage has said if he was in Government he would scrap race equality employment laws, so that employers could racially discriminate who they did or did not want to employ.

Shadow Justice Minister Sadiq Khan stated that Farage had shown ‘breathtaking ignorance, whilst Downing St said it had ‘grave concerns’ over the comments by the Ukip leader.

OBV eXpress: The journey so far

With four dates gone and about ten more to go, the OBV eXpress is in full flow.

We began with a soft launch for the Chinese community during the Chinese new celebration - the Year of the sheep. The official launch on Windrush Square, Brixton went fantastically well, despite the heavens opening up for the whole three hours we were there. OBV eXpress rolled up at both East Street Market in Barking, and the following day in Ilford High Street.

James Cleverly selected for safe Tory seat

James Spencer Cleverly has always been a good catch for the Conservative party: educated, army background, career driven and now their parliamentary candidate for the constituency of Braintree.

Born in Lewisham Hospital, to a British father and a mother from Sierra Leone, Cleverly grew up with two working parents. His mother a midwife and his father a ‘successful local business(man)’.

Educated at both Riverston School and Colfe’s School, Cleverly embarked on following his family’s tradition of joining the army.

Fuse ODG and OBV youth empowerment concert

International superstar Fuse ODG with his friends will put on a concert to inspire young people and the BME community to register to vote and vote in the forth coming elections.

The event will occur on Friday 13th March, 6-9pm, at Tooting & Mitcham Football Club, The Hub, Imperial Fields, Bishopford Road, SM4 6BF

70% rise in football racial abuse reports

According to the Football Association’s head of judicial services, Mark Ives, the FA has seen an increase of 70% in their total reported racial abuse and discrimination claims this season in grassroots amateur football. Ives expects that by May, a total of 800 incidents will have been reported.
