Marcus Garvey’s son arrives for UK tour

Dr Julius Garvey MD, son of human rights activist Marcus Mosiah Garvey, will visit the UK from 30th September to 5th October 2013 as part of celebrations during Black History Month.

British Sikhs: Celebrating diversity and honouring Lee Rigby

The British Sikh Association chose their annual showcase event to honour Drummer Lee Rigby.

Hundreds gathered at the Radisson Hotel in Portman Sqare for an evening of dance, music and tributes to what Britain’s Sikh community hold dear.

Before that the stations leading shock jock Nick Ferrari spent five minutes informing the capital about the impeding influx of Romanians as the restrictions of EU movement are relaxed for a number of countries. His reporter on the ground in Bucharest, Romania told the Ferrari that he’d never seen such poverty in all his life.

Overall, it is estimated that there are 1.2 million 'Stop and Searches' every year in England and Wales. Black people are seven times more likely to stopped than white people.

Under section 60 of the power which last year accounted for 46,961 stops our of 1.2 million Black people were 37 times more likely to be stopped and searched than white people.
