Dr Julius Garvey MD, son of human rights activist Marcus Mosiah Garvey, will visit the UK from 30th September to 5th October 2013 as part of celebrations during Black History Month.

The British Sikh Association chose their annual showcase event to honour Drummer Lee Rigby.

Hundreds gathered at the Radisson Hotel in Portman Sqare for an evening of dance, music and tributes to what Britain’s Sikh community hold dear.

Chair of the British Sikh Association Dr Rami Ranger spoke for many when he said:

Politicians, mathematicians, bigots, the informed and the uninformed, it’s time to take a lesson from the street poet Hollie McNish.

In less than three minutes, the self-confessed maths junkie combines poetry with her numerical acumen to drive a stake into the heart of the bigoted immigration debate. Her YouTube poem 'Mathematics' has become a video sensation with well over 1 million hits. Her message about today’s vitriolic immigration debate is a simple yet powerful one: The sums simply don’t add up.

May I apologise in advance dear reader this is rather long article. It seeks to deal with issues that are rarely covered elsewhere in any depth and so by its very nature has become a complex read. You will no doubt not completely agree with all I have written here, but in prompting debate it's important that there is compelling argument.

‘What has the West done to upset Somalis’, was the opening gambit this morning by LBC disc jockey James O’Brien in response to the terrorist attack in Nairobi, Kenya. . Before that the stations leading shock jock Nick Ferrari spent five minutes informing the capital about the impeding influx of Romanians as the restrictions of EU movement are relaxed for a number of countries. His reporter on the ground in Bucharest, Romania told the Ferrari that he’d never seen such poverty in all his life.

Overall, it is estimated that there are 1.2 million 'Stop and Searches' every year in England and Wales. Black people are seven times more likely to stopped than white people.

Under section 60 of the power which last year accounted for 46,961 stops our of 1.2 million Black people were 37 times more likely to be stopped and searched than white people.
