Orlando: Hatred is everywhere. Everyone is affected.

The brutal killing of black, white, and Latino’s at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida has led to an outpouring of grief and anger across the world. One can only imagine the grief of those left behind or whose families now face years of hospitalisation, disfigurement, impairment and disability.

My heart goes to those affected, my anger is focused on our own culpability as a wider society.

On June 23rd, the United Kingdom will decide whether to leave or remain in the EU.

Operation Black Vote and Saatchi & Saatchi today launches a poster campaign urging people to go to the polls to vote in the EU Referendum. The campaign is designed to demonstrate that the future of Britain is within everyone’s power to decide: they simply have to exercise their democratic right to vote.

Today America mourns the unprecedented mass shootings in its recent history. The gunman, a 29 year old US citizen Omar Mateen, embarked on a murderous rampage with has left 50 dead and another 50 injured.

During the bloody shootings at a gay and lesbian club in Orlando, Florida he called the emergency services declaring his sympathies for the Islamic State.

LOUISVILLE, KY- IN 1960, a young boxer named Cassius Clay returned to the United States from the Rome Olympics with a gold medal dangling from his neck. It might as well have been a noose.

That same year, I was arrested, along with seven classmates, for trying to borrow books from a public library in my hometown, Greenville, S.C. Despite winning glory and gold for his country, the fighter could not have used that library, either. He could not eat in a number of restaurants in downtown Louisville, Ky., where he grew up.

Voter registration extended until 12 Midnight

All those who thought they missed out on registering to vote for the EU election have been handed a second chance to do so.

On the last day to register 7th June, the Government website crashed with a deluge of individuals wanting to register to vote. As a result the Cabinet Office have extended the period until tonight at 12 midnight.

So, in what is expected to be the biggest political decision of a generation you can now register to vote today , but only until midnight.
