Nosheena Mobarik MEP (Conservative)

Nosheena Mobarik is the Conservative MEP for Scotland. She took up the position in 2017 replacing Ian James Duncan after he resigned. Nosheena returned as an MEP in the May 2019 European Parliament Elections.

Born in 1957 in Mian Channu, Pakistan, Nosheena moved to Glasgow, Scotland at six years old. She graduated with a History BA (Hons) degree from Strathclyde University in 1991. She is the Joint Chief Executive of M Computer Technologies which was founded by her and her husband Dr Iqbal Mobarik in 1997. The company develops and implements business management solutions for the retail sector. Nosheena has undertaken a number of voluntary and charitable roles. She was recently the Vice-Chairman of CBI Scotland from 2013-2014 (Confederation of British Industry) and served a two year term as the Chairman of CBI Scotland from 2011-2013 having been a member of Council of CBI Scotland since September 2001. She is a Director and Trustee of Craigholme School, which is an independent school for girls. She is also a Board member of the Glasgow Film Theatre. 

In 2014, Nosheena was appointed a Life Peer in the House of Lords, assuming the title of the Baroness Mobarik of Mearns in the county of Renfrewshire. 

In the European Parliament Mobarik has worked on bringing awareness to the plight of the Rohingya in Myanmar. As part of this work, Mobarik visited the Cox's Bazar refugee camp in Bangladesh in April 2018.
