Amjad Bashir ex-MEP


Amjad Mahmood Bashir was born in Pakistan, in 1952. He was elected in 2014 to be a Member of the European Parliament for the Yorkshire and the Humber region of the UK representing UKip.

Mr. Bashir came to the UK and moved to Yorkshire at the age of 8 and graduated at the University of Bradford, where he earned a degree in chemical engineering. Before being elected in 2014, he ran two restaurants in Bradford and Manchester and was a member of the Conservative Party for 15 years.

Mr. Bashir raises his concerns about the growing state and the growing EU by listing several employment regulations such as working time regulations, the climate change act, energy performance certificates and vehicle exercise duty.

Mr. Bashir is currently UKIP’s small and medium business spokesman.
