Apsana Begum MP (Labour)

Apsana Begum is the Labour MP for Poplar and Limehouse, she was elected in the December 2019 General Election receiving 28,904 votes, equaling a majority of 47.2%.

Born in Shadwell, London to Bengali Muslim parents, Apsana studied at Queen Mary University of London. A member of the London Labour executive committee, Apsana has campaigned to tackle inequality and protect public services.
