Seema Malhotra MP (Labour)

Seema Malhotra has served as Labour MP for Feltham and Heston since 2011. Recently in the December 2019 General Election, Seema received 24,876 votes, which equaled a 52% majority, retaining her seat.

Seema was born in Hammersmith in West London and grew up in Osterley and Feltham. She studied at the University of Warwick where she gained a BA (Hons) in Politics and Philosophy before going on to earn a MSc in Business IT at Aston University.

Before entering Parliament, Seema was a school governor and freelance business and public service adviser with over ten years experience. Since December 2011, she has worked in a range of government departments including Revenues and Customs, Ministry of Justice, and the Home Office.

Seema has spearheaded numerous Government programmes focused on increasing diversity in public offices, child safety, and gender issues. She is co-founder and Director of the Fabian Womens Network and a former National Chair of the Fabian Society.

Shortlisted for the Asian Women of Achievement awards in 2007, Seema actively writes and speaks about business, justice, and gender equality issues.

Seema has previously served as Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury, a Shadow Minister for the Home Office, and as an Opposition Whip.
