Feryal Clark MP (Labour)
Feryal Clark replaced former Labour MP Joan Ryan as the MP for Enfield North in the December 2019 General Election. Clark secured 23,340 votes and 51.8% of the vote share.
Clark was born in Turkey to Alevi Kurdish parents and was the first Kurdish MP in the UK Parliament. She studied bioinformatics at Exeter University and worked in diagnostic biochemistry and virology at University College Hospital and Barts.
She was elected as a Hackney councilor for Hoxton East and Shoreditch in 2006, where she has been a cabinet member for Neighbourhoods, and for Health, Social Care, Leisure and Parks, as well as holding the post of Deputy Mayor.
