Gagan Mohindra MP (Conservative)


Gagan Mohindra became the Conservative MP for South West Hertfordshire in the December 2019 General Election, securing 30,327 votes and a 23.5% majority. He won the seat from the former Conservative MP David Gauke, who left the party in opposition to the threat of a no-deal Brexit.

Mohindra read Mathematics at King's College London and worked in financial services, before founding the Chromex Group four years after graduating, where he worked until 2015. He has previously been an elected member on two councils - Epping Forest District and Essex County; becoming a District Councillor in June 2006 and elected onto Essex County Council in 2017, holding cabinet positions including Lead Member for Finance, Housing and Property. He also stood unsuccessfully in North Tyneside in the 2010 election.

He has been Chair of two local Conservative groups and is a member of Conservative Friends of India.

Mohindra is married to a privacy laywer.
