Zarah Sultana MP (Labour)
Zarah Sultana was first elected as the Labour MP for Coventry South in December 2019. Sultana narrowly secured the seat with 19,544 votes, a very small majority of just 401 votes.
Sultana was born in the West Midlands in 1993. Her grandfather moved to the area in the 1960s from Kashmir. Sultana studied international relations with economics at the University of Birmingham. During her time at university, she was elected onto the National Executive Council of both Young Labour and the National Union of Students.
Zarah is a Muslim of Kashmiri ancestry.
